Dan Haynes has acquired 60 original Kar Kraft Trans Am blueprints, like the brake pedal shown here.

The blueprints are to be digitized and will be available soon..
Single prints, specific groups or the entire inventory are available.

Contact Dan at kktaprints@sbcglobal.net  for more info.  Prices are reasonable at $300 for the entire set.

Shown here as a sample of the brake pedal.
If anybody is interested in certain remanufactured parts, pls. contact us, we will keep you informed about the ones that will be available.

We rarely do feature B/M-replicas on this site, but this is a real G-code built to specs by sb. who takes it as serious as Bud Moore has taken it. Vintage raced out on the tracks in Sweden and your editor of choice can't forget the 420HP/7200 rpm  sound, so enjoy the hard work of a real Trans-Am enthusiast.

If you wonder why it has no stickers on, those are simply not allowed in vintage races in Sweden.

Race cars have their audience in Europe as well.

Cool Swede Jörgen in a 420HP Boss 302 race car
Remember that swedish guys have 7-9 month to get their cars ready for the season. Jörgen's is out this year and carving real performance signatures into the northern tracks.

Harry Lippetz displayed his #15 (212777) for the SEMA 2006 special muscle car show and our friend Rich Truesdell writing for Mustang Enthusiast and Muscle Car Enthusiast was there to catch it on a flash memory card for us.  In fact the Saleen car is a tribute to 9F02R212777, the 1970 Parnelli Jones championship car that Jones drove in 9 of 11 races & qualified on the pole in 2 additonal race/Kent & Riverside).

Saleen showed outside one of these Parnelli Jones EDITION series car. No, those are not real Minilites, they have one spoke less.

Inside he presented a new PJ Saleen S281 convertible.

Another #16 numbered 2006 Mustang in the early BM paint scheme was presented elsewhere at SEMA.

Mister and Miss Transamerican

Walt Hane's photobox presents us the evidence. While the girl tries to maintain a sort of seriousness, the well-known guy on the left side seems to have a better idea to celebrate the victory.
Walt Hane's son Chip was the "board guy" for the Shelby team.

We are looking for other Miss Transamerican pics. There seems to be little on the web yet.
Please mail.

Due to a heavy loaded business travel schedule of myself, this will be extended later with the full interview.

I'd like to say thanks again to Walt for sharing this retrospective with us.

The Parnelli Jones Edition Saleen
at the New York Auto Show
Some guys just have a heart for the unexpected Ponysite.de.
Steve Saleen seems to have an eye for the golden opportunities and the heartbeat of a true Mustanger.
Ponysite had asked Vyto P.  2 years ago to create a Parnelli Jones replica based on a 2006 and Saleen picked up the idea obviously to show it at the New York Auto Show 2006. By incident our friend Richard Truesdell joined PJ and Steve Saleen to send us this nice pic. The world is small enough.
Marketing ideas just start here. Watch out for the Ponysite ideas that will become reality at the SEMA (BULLITT Reloaded, Shelby R-Type, BOSS 429 etc.)

Orders for the Saleen PJ Edition are taken from now on for delivery in the autumn.
Price is about 50.000 Dollar for the 302cui/370HP powered car. More on www.saleen.com

Finally  online - The visit to the Bowdens Paradise Down under.

I promised a visit to the Bowdens paradise and you may join us soon on a virtual tour that rarely anybody has been invited to.
Ponysite is proud to have been allowed to dive into the secret archive rooms and workshops, a place where typically nobody is allowed to enter.

A car collection in true Trans Am style. 90 cars as of 2006. Everything or nothing worth to preserve of the Australian racing scene ...seems to be the motto of the Bowden's while still being  the friendly next doors mate to car enthusiasts throughout the world.

This family speaks R A C I N G and C A R  C A R E in bold letters..

Ak Miller,
famous race driver, advisor and referent at the Custom Car Caravan of Ford in the 60ies, later Pikes Peak winner and long-time race instructor etc. is in serious condition and  hospitalized - our prayers are with him.

Unfortunately Ak Miller died on 15th. of December 2005.

Thanks to Benito Lores passing by in our part of the cyberspace we've got some pretty exclusive pics to share
That's the first of 5 R-Shelby having been south in Peru (probably 5R211 - later ones were 5R213, 5R530 and 5R540) and one of the two 67 Shelby Group II cars he imported. Benito also had a 66 Shelby Notchback racing.
More about Benitos successful history probably soon in a SAAC publication and a little bit more of these glorious Days on this site. Drivers Arnaldo Alvarado and and Emilio Fort. Benito dealt directly with Lew Spencer from Shelby back then.

Interesting stuff to read about Boss 302s and T/A in general.
One of the more interesting mags these days.

Watch also out for the new bimonthly Motor Trend Classic - a new promising mag.
Just got Issue no. 1 and this is worth to read, although has nothing (yet) to do with Trans Am

18x10" Minilite Motorsports Wheel production planned for 2006 Mustangs!

Rims with a racing past might become available for any race-interested 05 owners if there are enough commitments.

Some commitments still needed to make this computer design a real wheel. A famous Mustang tuner has already shown interest. Unfortunately they all decided against it and use now a similar design with one spoke less. What a lost chance.

You've little heard about SAAC-30 event?
Even not on this site? That's a pity because it has been the event of the events in 2005. 40 years Shelby, track racing actions, Mustang and Shelby history VIPs, and lots of fun.

Don't miss the video that is coming out these days from www.carfilms.com. I have ordered mine today.

Bud Moore
probably didn't realize at Carlisle 2005, but he fulfilled a dream of a club member and saved a friendship in this moment.
Yet, this club member doesn't know he will get it until he reads this page.

I stumbled over an air cleaner meshed lid of my fellow "Parnelli" Hans during a recent photo shoot. What a shame. I bend it straight, but of course this can't cover the pain of a real diehard Mustanger. I could see it in his face.
Hans, raise your head, there is something coming your way soon, when we meet again.

This is our famous "Parnelli" Hans with an unknown Detailing cleaner. Did Parnelli ever detail his car?

Moffat Coca Cola Racer revisited
Since I was Down under, I was fortunate enough to be invited by the Bowdens and have a seat and a closer look into this famous T/A racer. A truely thrilling experience to squeeze yourself through the side rails of the cage into the race seat .
Looking out through the windscreen set me somehow back in time and I had a vision.....

The competitors hot and smelling exhausts and revving throaty engines while staging for the race is an audible and visual experience that was unfortunately not for real, but....very close. Just a daydream, not more. Hmmm.

At least  new pics at www.ponysite.de/transam148624.htm

The Simon Rentals Mustang in race action at Riverside race circuit 1972-1974.
Pic courtesy Dave P.

Info needed about this Simon Rentals 1969 race Mustang and possible driver Jim Pickert  in 1972-1974

Dave, current owner of this car, is looking for historic results of this A/S entered 69 Mustang racer.

"Its hard to see, but there are three SCCA tech stickers on the car, the most visible being a green one on the front bumper below the right headlight. He also had big side exhaust exits in front of the rear tires.
Jim Pickert was the second owner and somewhat of a partner with
Mike Simon of Simon Rentals, so I believe he is the best candidate for being the driver.
It was most probably raced in 1972-1974

Update early 2006:

Jim Pickert was a bad lead.  The driver was actually the original owner, Bob Elgin of the LA area.  The car had a brief A/S history at Ontario, Riverside and Willow Springs.  Cal Club had a falling out with Ontario for several years which was patched up for this event.  Don't know if they repeated it in 75.
In paperwork from SCCA archives, Elgin declared his intentions to run Trans Am in 74/75, however the car was never finished in T/A trim, which is how it appears today.   What it does have, is Kar Kraft sway bars front and back and a KK Watt's Box setup.  The cage is also KK style right out of the Boss Chassis Manual.  There are narrow rear leaf springs with DOZX aluminum bushings and rear four piston calipers with Bud Moore brackets.  Front brakes are standard big Lincoln upgrade.   The fuel filler and plate is cast aluminum Holman-Moody stuff.
Elgin is still probably somewhere in the LA area.  I haven't been able to find him.  What is curious is that he had somebody in T/A or with T/A contacts who was providing him with parts.  The rearend/brakes and front spoiler appear to have been pulled from a well-used T/A Mustang.  The Watt's Box was installed new and was only available to factory teams.   Richard Wall and Gary Mathews were guys who were racing in Cal Club at that time.  Elgin had eight Magnesium five spoke wheels.  They were all marked in paint with the initials "M.R.T." which leads me to believe "Mathews Racing Team" may have been the source.  Some of these wheels are also stamped for the Bud Moore Cougar Team, four of which were sold before I bought the car and are now with the Ross Myers, Bud Moore Cougar.
Gary Mathews may be a stretch, but maybe I can find him through the dealer who sold his car in 2003.  One of these guys knew Elgin and likely helped him.  I have a 1974 black and white photo of Mathews car at Riverside with a for sale sign on the rear quarter.  Interesting that it took him unitl 87 to sell it.   I'm still looking for Elgin.
