There is a rumour
out there that one of the original Charger is still around in San Francisco with a Motion picture agency owner, plus a gas cap from the destroyed one.
His father worked on the linkage of the Charger to the Mustang for the original Bullitt movie.

We try to do more research on this one. Stay tuned.

Scott McGaughy has to make a decision every day...
which most of you'd like to take from his shoulders.
"I just purchased a 67 GT Fastback 4 speed.  I plan on building it into a Bullitt clone ..doing things like removing the lettering, changing the side scoops, adding side marker lights, moving the antenna, installing the correct wheels, some dash and interior changes and painting it the correct color will be what I am looking to do.  I feel this will be a much better change than letting someone morph it into an Eleanor. "
Yup, Scott, please do so! Never seen a 2001 Eleanor, btw...
Dave Goodwin from the UK updates us with latest pics of his BULLITT replica

He bought the one that was pictured with the "on sale" sign here on this page somewhere.
I put it in order later, Dave.

Greg aka Stainboy

not only likes graphic artwork
"I started with an Ertl and AutoArt 1:18 scale diecasts. I took both completely apart and then I stripped the paint off the Ertl body. I had a local body shop mix me up some metallic Highland green and clearcoat. I drilled out the body panels and did the damage with modeling putty. After that, I shot the body with auto paint and clearcoat. I took whatever correct parts I could get from both cars and then rebuilt it , stuffing the 390 big block engine in and doing a lot of detail to the interior. I also had to make many parts from scratch. Once built, I added the dust and mudsplash. " Well done, Greg.

Some more info coming soon on the process of building it.

A BULLITT Theme car

has been started at a Ford associated workshop

Plus Ford and GM announced their cooperationship on a Muscle car heritage theme for the next SEMA at the NY Auto Show.
Now time to count the days.

Ponysite and Sean Sweeney. predicted it already 3 years ago. It's nice to see them all coming this year.

A BULLITT in Tokyo

Having been 3 times in Tokyo, I've spotted quite a few Mustangs over there and there is a very active US car scene.
Most are preserved in concours style.

Still a 68 BULLITT replica is a rare piece  in downtown Tokyo.

A true R-Code Bullitt or not
- Vincent does not really care... like a true McQueen enthusiast.
His car had been questioned on a forum being around as a 8R02R early 'stang, so did I, but Vincent just wants to have it his way. If there is a 390 in it or a 428 in it - for him, it's just the fun he has with his car ...that counts. The car was originally Ivy Gold and the car came to Europe via Belgium in 2002. It has no power steering, no AC,  no power discs, just drums, but a C6 trans and Deluxe Interior and remote operated mirrors. Vincent just likes it this way and its enough for him to enjoy, he says.
More now in the replica section of our BULLITT site.

Exclusive interview with the son
of a BULLITT eye witness.

Frank Panacci Sr. was a real cop for the the city of San Francisco. His assignment like the other police officers were to give security and ease direct traffic for the movie crew......and he ended up being in a few of the scenes which lead to being a confident to Steve McQueen.

Adding the right wheels/rims and DHG to a Fastback body shape is just the right choice for any Mustang

Simon Peryer from Down Under
just loves DHG 'stangs

Many a 65/66 Fastback owner asked us, how DHG would turn out with the right tire/wheel combo on  his car. Well, here you go.

"
I've just purchased this 65 Fastback in Melbourne Australia. It's a 289 Manual A code. It's not a Bullitt replica, but it is in Dark Highland green (was originallly Ivy Green Metallic) with similar period mags. Of course I'm a big Bullitt fan and have watched the chase scene many times, usually counting the number of hubcaps to come off the Dodge!" Simon Peryer

BULLITT and the new MOSES movie.
Watch out for thrilling stunts with a 67 Bullitt clone and

A true
Enthusiast  Ben Maccabee

Ben Maccabee, for BULLITT maniacs alias MAC told us in September:  I am a big McQueen fan and glad to know there are some more out there. David Kunz asked me to fill you in on my collection. I am a motion picture actor. Just finished a film titled MOSES 'fallen in the city of Angeles  Sort of Action Drama flick. (Info on imdb.com)
I play the title role and do my own  stunts in it, therefore I got to drive my own 1967 Bullitt replica, I am the proud owner of  this sweetheart.  I also have a 2005 GT Mustang dedicated to Steve McQueen's BULLITT. MY entire Collection is dedicated to Steve McQueen." Mac

After his return from another movie, MAC found the time to fill us in on his collection. The BULLITT 2005 is Dark Highland green - well almost* and carries now a licence plate of STVMQN.
His 67 green Bullitt clone looks outstanding and carries a 4STVMQN licence plate!. A Cobra (see it behind the 67) called LE MANS joins his car park, which he races occasionally at Willow Springs. Watch out for this guy. The movie MOSES - Fallen in the city of Angeles comes to Europe in April 2006.

The Galpin 2005 BULLITT
Galpin Ford has been known in the 60ies for special Mustangs with a bench seat for your mother in law in the trunk area. (some call it simply rumble seat)
It's time to paint your Mustangs DHG, Galpin and make a special series!

Editors Remark: Ben's 2005 is yet red, but this is what it probably looks like in a few months.

Ben will be at the Bullitt Nationals 2006 in SFO!

  Another BULLITT Replica
turns up with noise in London/England

Squealing tires and a high revving 302 engine alert currently the neighbourhood of Daryl Gibbard. Each evening they are calling in their kids and holding back their cats and dogs, cause Daryl really loves it, seeking that hidden camera on the boardwalk to smash into the forgarden.

See more pics of Daryls Tire-Smokin joint soon here in our worldwide biggest Bullitt replica section.

As with all smokin stuff, there is a warning message on this one created by Daryl:
These cars are extremely cool and many people love them......it takes twice as long as normal to get anywhere as everyone wants to talk to you!!!
So he has got to hurry up on the final few corners.

  We never loose track
of a good old BULLITT replica, even if it takes a year

Bullitt lookalike arrived in England

David Cox had told us in July 2004: "I am the second Dallas Texas area owner of this dark moss green 67 fastback.  It may not be highland green, but it sure looks close.  Since it is an actual GT car, I didn't really want to sacrifice the fog lights or stripes in an attempt to make the car more Bullitt-like, but I did obviously choose the wheels for that reason.  I have owned the car since January of 1995. Here is some additional information:

1967 Mustang Fastback GT Model

2nd Owner

Dallas Texas car – Absolutely no rust

VIN# 7R02S214363

Data Plate 63B Y 6G 26E 61 1 5

390 CID with 4-speed transmission

Pertronix ignition

Hooker headers with header mufflers

Holly electric fuel pump

Carpet, kick panels and door panels (not deluxe) are new.

This car needs several interior items to be complete including:

Front seat upholstery

Dash, instrument bezel and brushed aluminum appliqués

Windshield – not cracked but scratched from wiper blades

Headliner

This car runs and handles extremely well. Was on sale for just $12,000.00

In August the car was finally sold and send to England. Took new owner Dave Goodwin just almost a year until November 2005 to find our site.
Steve would be proud of him. :)
