Andy Vann owns this peculiar Shelby Hertz that was probably the most photographed car at the 45th. 
Andy Vann from Alabama, living close by the Barber Motorsports Park bought the car from a Shelby dealer in 1967 for about 2000 dollar and used it through the 70ies, later gave it to his wife, but finally was tired, when almost each time somebody followed his wife returning to his home asking wether they could buy the Shelby. Finally he parked it in 1980 and left it in his garage. The owner of the Barber Motorsports Park knew about this very specific Shelby and talked Andy into showing it at the 45th. Well, Andy restarted the car after more than 20
years and obvously just had to change a flat tire and wipe off
the dirt and dust on the rear window for a better rear view while driving and
turning. Fortunately he just left it like it was
stored and it should probably remain in that status forever as a time capsule.
