Other Highligts on site for Bullitt maniacs

The CDC Flashback II was there. I met George Huisman from CDC to talk about the Equus project (that has since changed to Panoz hands) and the thorough engineered all-new Flashback 2010 as they call this car now. We had featured it back then as the first website in the Bullitt news section on ponysite.de.

Engine view of the Flashback 2.

Chad McQueens Bullitt retro-replica was displayed at the Gateway Mustang stand. It looks much better in person, still it misses the original touch in my view and is a compromise of a real replica or a Flashback, not really a good blend, but still certainly fun and the Mustang, as we all know, is here to be designed by yourself. Enough said.

A detail shot of Chad's replica from the LH mirror

..and a shot from the black-out treatment on the rear panel. There are still remaining doubts about that treatment amongst hardcore Bullitt maniacs, although 90% think it was blacked out. Have you ever checked the front grille inner pieces! Well go ahead and you find another mystery to solve.

Entering the reserved Bullitt parking area raised some eyebrows ....
and got some thinking about some improvements in "FordEducation" of the organizers staff.

....the "Bullet Group" parking sign will be at least the most obscure memorabilia from the 45th. Anniversary.

Some of the Bullitt guys were hesitant to park behind such a intolerable sign, but finally did just for a good laugh at least amongst themselves, since probably only 40%  of the 100.000 spectators got the idea what was wrong with it. More radical members removed the signs finally for the peace of mind and their garages.

Some may have speculated it was me or another stranger, who put these ones up on the 16th. of April early morning already...., well yes, that
would have been a nice joke indeed. I'll think about something like that for the 50th:)

There were numerous 2001 and 2008 owners of the DHG variety.

Plus this clean 1968 Bullitt movie replica, an original S-code car, that was on sale from Heavy-T Custom sales. (US 205-281-3930)

Mediablasted and good quality paint, as it seemed.

Riding a
bullet makes sense, if it is a true Bullitt Mustang inside and outside.

This more powerful 67 Bullitt move carreplica was seen quite often on the track.

Ken from Georgia staging for another run on the track - pushing the enveloppe and praising the engineers at Ford for their outstanding job on a serial production car..
