Look at the polished masterpiece. Thanks to Richard Rodeck and Vics team today it got the extra attention over the years.

The #16 George Follmer car (148623) of course is of our main interest, but Vic obviously likes to compare good old T/A iron on the track with his pants.

Hi guys, recently (April 2003) I went over to Vic's shop. It was a fun tour. The pictures of the manifold show the polishing I did on them in 1969. It was great to see it again. As you can see the car was apart to get it ready for the next race.

Seeing a workpiece you've done more than 30 years ago in this condition ...picture it yourself!

I might add some details about the engines from my memory. We never used aluminum valve covers, those headers and distributor of the Shelby cars. We used the stamped steel valve covers that were on the stock 69 Boss 302 and continued to use them on the 70 race car. We used 2 1/4" stainless steel headers that were put on individually. We did try 180 degree headers on tight track because of the better torque at low end. Finally we only used the 2 1/4" headers. We used offset distributors on the 2x4 setup.

Thanks Edd (Double D) Stevens
