This T/A Mustang was raced by Peter Revson in 1969 and served in 1970 as a season backup car. In total it was used in 8 1969/70 T/A races. Dan Gurney drove this Shelby Team car at  Seattle in 1969, Kwech at Donnybrooke (DNF)
According to R.Gillis 148628  missed San Jovite 1969 because it wasn't repaired from Briar.

Later assigned - after Shelby's activities ended - to the Bud Moore Team.
Driven by George Follmer at Lime Rock in 1970.

It was wrecked however in testing at St. Jovite 1970 with A. J. Foyt at the wheel, repaired by Bud Moore and sold to Troy Promotions at least for the '71 season.

It was raced by Jerry Thompson in 1971 as number 4 under Troy Promotions sponsorship. It should not be mixed up with the 9F02M212777 car, listed on this site as being driven as No. 3 by Tony DeLorenzo.

It seems the car then went to Tope Racing and was used from 1972 to 1974 at least driven with the door number #32 at San Air/Canada in 1972 (pictures on www.autocourse.ca) and it appeared as #82 in the A/S class at Mid-Ohio 1974. Kevin Knedler brought this picture to our attention.

In 1986 purchased by Ohio based Brooke Mossgrove from Roy Petrovich. Mossgrove restored it through 1987 and sold it later to a car collector.

Mechanically finetuned by Chris Liebenberg's Racing Restorations in 95/96. Sold in April 1999 and first shown at the '99 Monterey Historic Sports Car races under new ownership of Brian Mimaki. Powered with a Danbury Competition BOSS 302 engine equipeed with a Crower crank and rods plus valvetrain, Wiseco pistons and the BM Engineering mini plenum intake setup. Power is channeled through a Ford Toploader 4-speed and 4.11 or 4.56 gearsets.

Car featured in Mustang Illustrated in July 2000, page 20-22.

Gary Underwood* was the driver in 2002 of the 9F02M148628 car, but it was actually owned until 2003 by California based flower farmer Brian Mimaki.

Sidenote: Gary Underwood's son Terry runs an independent Trans Am Mustang in the vintage series under the number '#61. It is VIN 0F02G144325. It is a true Boss 302 chassis. Together with Mom Mary the three of them are always found in the pits (2002).
