Sverre Johan Sandåker had owned this ultrarare Shelby Europa 1971 convertible for 13 years, before Rauno Harvima bought it in early 2004.
It was originally built in Dearborn and sent to Bob Ford , a dealer in Detroit. Bob Ford was the dealer, where belgian Shelby-Dealer Claude Dubois ordered all of his Shelby Europas. Claude had a licence agreement with Shelby for using the Shelby name after Caroll ceased business with Ford. 14 Shelby Europa were built with only 2 convertibles known to exist.
Acc. to Claude Dubois personal records, this convertible was sold to a customer named Beys in Belgium.

Sverre told us back then something about the history, after it left Belgium:
"I own the car since 1991. Before that Rolf Frederikson owned the car for another 10 years. So at least it is about 20 years in Norway. I have no other history on the car yet. I have exchanged the floorpans in 2001. I drive occasionally to Meetings. The pictures shown here are from Frederiksstad."

The car was on sale since May 2003 and changed hands to Rauno in Finland on 21st. February 2004.

"He (Sverre) took the car on a trailer to Stockholm (about 600 km) and we met and made the deal there. I shipped the car during night over to Finland and took the car on a trailer for the 460 km trip from Turku to my home during the day." informed us Rauno, "Now the both Lady-Convertibles are sitting besides each other.

The car was re-painted in the original color in 1989"
