1968 427 sideoiler Medium riser in a 1967 Mustang

Most 1968 Mustang owners dream of this combination. Svein, a friend of mine up north realized it in a 3 years lasting project. I hope to get a ride soon.

The Sideoiler 427 came out of a 1968 Shelby Mustang, where it made room at one time for a 427 Cammer engine, the dream of that Shelbys owner, so actually 2 dreams were realized in this chain.
The last owner of the Sideoiler sold it only because he needed a new house after a long period of owning it. A fortune for Svein, as they are not easy to get on the market these days.

Update October 16th:
Gary announces the official hand-over of the T-5 registry to Mark Cordery in the Mustang Times latest issue. Mark is a long time friend of both Gary and myself and owner of his own T-5 of course.
Let's wish Mark all the best and for sure we will cooperate the same way as before.

September 3rd, 2019/Update Oct. 18th

The T-5 guru returned to Germany once more in 2019. The final visit before handing over the T-5 registry to a new guy.
There are some names that seem to be present in Mustang circles since the early days of the Mustang mania. When Gary  Hanson bought his first Mustang via the telephone, he thought he would get a 66 GT. He bought it sight unseen for quite a cheap amount (in our todays view), when a relative told him about the Fastback being on sale. After some more questions Gary learned that the emblem was a bit different than that of a GT. It said T-5.
Researching the paperworld (there was no Internet at that time) he learned that Ford had to market the Mustang in Germany with it's early project name T-5 due to the namerights of Mustang belonging to Krupp and Kreidler at that time.
Since then - over 40 years he is running the T-5 registry for us.
I was fortunate to meet him again at the heartbeat of Ford in Germany, which is located in Cologne. And I hope that we will meet again in the next years. We visited the Motorworld, a newer facility hosting the Michael Schumacher F1 collection and more and he was very much impressed of the high-level, but also high-priced classic german cars for sale there. Next to a number of luxury gadgets and a wooden Gullwing Mercedes in 1:1 format we had our selfies, but to the left see him staying right in front of the the Dom (cathedral) of Cologne just amidst a number of flag style chalk circles.

He certainly has accumulated hundreds of T-5s from all over the world in his registry, thus this picture hopefully tell his lifestory in its own way. We wish him and Linda all the best for the next travels.

Readers of Ponysite.de know already Designer Hans A. Muth as the one who was influential in the european design of the Capri. In the race for the better concept he designed amongst other concepts Taunus/Capri related design variations..
Not so well known is that he did as well a number of Mustang designs. But his work for Ford Cologne of course made him very well known in Ford Design circles. A place for fame was his part in the Target Design group that designed the Suzuki Katana, for me the best bike design ever in history comparable with the Concorde influence.
I myself had a Suzuki GSX400 and GX550 back then and loved the outstanding design.(Though they were derivated by Suzuki designers from the original prototype design)

Next in his book of fame is the BMW GS80/RS90 and RT100 bike and Laverda bikes. There is no room here for naming more, but within October 2019 we can page through 182 pages of design history. Since 58 years Hans A. Muth is driven by creativity and still active with his own company. I wish he would sit down and design the Generation VII of the Mustang, if he hasn't yet.
https://www.dustri.com/…/deutschsp…/b/design-macht-muth.html

BTW Hans A. Muth was of course communicating with Phil Clark back then, when Phil was in Dagenham working on many projects. We (Holly Clark and myself) had been in touch with him more than a decade ago already for clarification of several diaries entrys.

I am not sure if this link will work for overseas or european orders, and don't forget that the book is in german only.
Interesting for us Mustang maniacs are several never published Mustang designs of the past period and more interesting Capri designs.

Lookin forward to receiving my ordered copy.

Yes, occasionally we still get rare stuff in the mailbox.
This is MY and his mom, who worked at the Michigan International Speedway. We are just trying to sort out which MIS ARI Pace car this actually is. The real deal 428CJ or an unknown later promo car. The story speaks for the 428CJ itself.

For sure today nobody would let M.Y. jump on the hood, if he ever finds it again.
If you have any more leads, let us know. We know that - although the Michigan cars should have been green, the pace car actually was orange with the Michigan logo on the rear, press photos show the same orange cars, both Fastback and the convertible. ...to be researched further.
More soon.

Borning
#3 is filmed in Norway, Sweden and Germany. The "fast and funny" road movie already convinced many scandinavian Muscle car enthusiasts, part one is available in various languages meanwhile.
Crazy stunts were done in Duesseldorf and Cologne by Action Concept with Richard Andersen and his team Preben, Karl and Ole from Norway to name just a few. Magic Motors from Germany, Boss Hoss and Henning Baum joined the gang.
The haven area of Duesseldorf was one spot during the first weekend.
Next spot was a gas station and a car garage with more stunt scenes being shot the following weekend on a bridge in Cologne.
The yellow Ponies of Ponyparts.no are very famous in Europe. 3 of them were used for the movie. Richard runs the business for decades and is an active drag racer up there in Norway. The movie is financed with 6,1 million Euro. The actors are norwegian, swedish and german ones. Alexandra Maria Lara acts (known to car maniacs from the movie Rush) along with Anders Baasmo Christiansen and "Nina" aka Ida Husøy.

I had the chance to meet the team at 2 and a 1/2 film locations.1/2 because I was on the other side of the containers in the haven. It was again amazing, how many hours are necessary to make 1 minute movie perfect in the end, at least for further editing in the directors cut

The Hot Rod plays a special role in the movie. Be prepared for a big surprise for the final race. Ponyparts.no also layed their hands on this blown engine to make it a unique Ford powerplant of its own.

The engine in the main hero car had been a Boss 302 previously in the series, now was replaced for this sequel with a larger bore, not stroked high-revving drag motor, that puts out even more power, says Richard. The drag scenes in the haven of Duesseldorf prooved that Richard actually had to slow down in many areas, not using the full potential of the car. Expect more soon on this site with related permissions given.

Car #1 and Car #2 in the container logistic area in Duesseldorf. First one has real rubber on the lower rear fender, second one got black paint instead and is an automatic.

Stay tuned for more on car #3 later on. For those that saw it here already, we agreed to remove it for the sake of the movies storyboard, when it hits the cinemas.
Update: It will be in central Europe only on Netflix from January 2nd, 2020.

Mustang Fever in Europe.
The Annual Mustang show organised by Adelbert from the Mustang Garage in Heusden near Zolder attracted 813 Mustangs from Belgium, Nederland, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, UK and France. A very good result and success. See my video from the Saturday, the weather prediction was not very good, so the share of Mustang V and VI was higher than on Sunday.

Peter Brocks latest cooperation with Mikael Tarne and Bastian Ebener and their team finally was on display. Next to the PBX2299 finished last year, the PBX2287 was presented for the first time in public at the Martin Kölnberger booth at the Techno Classica 2019.
During the press day, the couple of reincarnations from the most famous race cars (3D digitized from the original cars and made perfect in their original shape by the team ) were shown.
Note the different higher roofline and steeper windshield shape, the positions of the air inlet and many other differences, which Mikael (on left) was eager to point out to each interested party.

The Stallion was a special Mustang from Mainway Ford in Canada. Only a few went into the hands of customers.

We reported about some of the owners on this site earlier.

We just got contacted by someone, who could get a few remaining memorabilia items, probably (by best knowledge, since we have little proof) key fob and a plaques from the 1967 Stallion.

Are you interested? Pass us a line with your max. amount you'd like to put on the table. Location of goodies is CDN.

At the age of 77 Tania Mallet died unfortunately.
Rest in Peace.

Tania is well known as the Bond girl in Goldfinger driving the white Mustang convertible up the Furka pass.

We remind you of her with a picture in another white convertible that she drove in 2008 at the same location.

The Mustang was borrowed from Peter Lanz in Switzerland.

A second time around in Germany

Alex Kilpatrick from Canada donated this T-5 back to Germany....well not really, it was appraised properly and subsequently bought by a company in Bochum/Germany, which rents out Mustangs and other car for fun trips.
So if you are coming to Germany, Bochum is your place to rent a classic Mustang - aka T-5 - in central Germany.
Alex is now thinking about a trip to reunite at least for a week once in the future.

I always wondered why no one does a proper Mustang Milano scale model.

Except of course my friend and model builder Bob Sifferd with his high-level unique scale model in 1:18, on which he is still working. Bob found, this new scale model on the right side from Autocult deserves some attention. More interesting is that a german manufacturer released it as part of a special series in late 2018
I only wish they had chosen another scale ratio, not the 1:43 size.  But o.k, it is well detailed.

Acc. to Bob it looks excellent and well executed, when looking at the pictures only. It sells for close to 90 Euro over here and you can get it in almost every country around the world (in the US from ACME). Check out ebay for a quick buy, if you can't wait.
