2007 California Special on display

A nice engine display at Burgol Racing

The latest Alfa 8C concept car (Convertible!)

Ferrari has a promising market in Switzerland, it's display of racing cars was one of the biggest in the hall - visitors not allowed to enter. There is not much more distance that you can build up for enthusiasts, only Ferrari can do- exclusively for owners obviously.

But then again, they have nice ladies to watch.

The Scuderia Filippinetti was one of the worlds best known swiss racing team. Next to Ferrari team cars their Shelby Mustangs are still pretty much unresearched (except from Ponysite for the past decade of course). We hope to have more soon with our swiss friends Rony Altermatt, Reto Wigger and last but not least Phil Henny (www.philhenny.com) (Ex-Race team member working for Shelby for Le Mans and with the Scuderia Filipinetti).

A Riva has something, but the smaller car - a 1954 Siata  300BC Spyder by Bertone coachwork might be even worth more in this case with 120.000 Euro.

Racing cars all over the place.

Meeting friends of the heydays and of today is the bonus that you can take benefit from when visiting next time the Geneva Classics. A number of genuine people were present to exchange their memories with their fan club. Like Phil Henny, who has always a kind word and a nice story to tell to his audience.
But aside from that the Geneva Classics was a class A event that should be by any means repeated. The mix of classic boats, airplanes, arts, bikes, special cars (police, firetrucks), auction block, racecars and street cars has the right ingredients to become a very promising event. Let's hope it evolves to at least semi-Goodwood standard in the next 3 years with an additional race track event and maybe a swap meet. The Drive-In cinema was a beautiful idea, unfortunately due to some misleading plates outside (complet) people turned away, thinking it was fully booked, at least on Friday evening, not sure about BULLITT screened on Saturday.

Hall 7 saw a big auction block of excellent historic racing and street cars (in front)

A GT40 always makes a good racy appearance (Collection Claude Nahum)

A new GT converted at Capricorn (Nurburgring) for Switzerland:

5R096 Ex-Comstock Racing Team R-Model now in the Nahum collection

Your Editor of choice meeting a 1967 GT500 on sale for 120.000 Euro at the UK based OCTANE magasin booth and meeting the publisher himself at this booth. The Shelby was on loan by Burgol as well.

Plenty of Riva boats with a suitable Lambo. Who would not like to park both in the port of Monte Carlo near the Casino.

The Oldtimer Gallery Toffen will auction rare automobile jewels on 25th. November in Switzerland.

Vintage cars (plus a few new ones) staging for "Une Homme et une Femme" in the indoor Drive-In Cinema with American Diner service on roller-skates. Swiss understand how to organzine excellent events.

Pininfarina with a genuine early concept car

Super Constellation plus some more warbirds next to hall 7 at the fairground. This is an active airport next to the exhibition ground.

No comment - but those were the times.
