Henri Greder piloted his Ford of France Mustang registered with #CZ 076 licence plate in this european rally.
Henri Greder told him:
"The Mustang at the Tour de Corse 1964 was of gray colour with a red on white belgium licence plate CZ076. This was the same Mustang that I drove in the Tour de France 1964. The Mustang was licenced in Belgium, because it did not pass anymore the french road rules (Service des Mines Francaise?)
This Mustang never gave me a chance to win at the Tour de France, because it had an engine problem from the beginning. Despite of this I won 2 etappes on the circuits of Charade and Albi during the TDF 1964.
During the Tour de Corse in November 1964 we were very successfull, but during the night the left front wheel broke away and disappeared in the darkness. My co-pilot was Martial Delalande.
The first Tours that we participated in were certainly physically more difficult and more dangerous to drive than today. In mid of November you had all these leafs on the road, the 24hours driving, the road conditions at the Tour de Corse, the suspension knowledge, the maintenance that had to be done on the road, not in closed areas like today, the road tires that we used. And I don't want to touch the rescue issues in case of severe accidents.
But each time period had its own thrill and I don't want to downgrade any driver of today. For them today its more a profession and they are well paid. At that time we were amateurs or semi-amateurs like Trautman, Jean Rolland, Vinatier, Pio and myself."
