6S2377 as it appeared in 1991 ![]() Bob Steinberg owned this Magnum rim equipped red 66 original Shelby G.T.350. It was the only one, which received Magnum wheels. The first owner was reportedly Bob Shane from the Kingston Trio. Sold on July 7th, 1966 to Bob. After a small accident the car was probably sold to S&C Motors already in late 1966 and later to Hi-Performance Motors in El Segundo/CA. Ron McClure had it in 1978 with 40.000 miles on the speedometer in Pasadena/California. It was bought from Rick Nickle from Torrance/CA in primer &b ondo condition. 4000 dollars was the typical 66 convertible price back then, but Rick already paid much more as the seller knew what he had. Still it was stored for another 2 years outside, then 8 years in a wood factory. Rust went through the sheetmetal from the outside to the inside and the red colour turned into brown-orange joining with the sawing stuff. Bob Steinberg bought it in this condition although it was advertised 3 times and big wallet buyers popped up, still the seller having promised the car to Bob sealed a profitable deal - for Bob. Fairness counted more than big money. Drew Alcazar got the job to restore this famous convertible and Bobs wallet got thinner, but as a good investment for the future. The restoration took 18 months due to the heavy rust and a tree that had fallen on the car. The exhaust system was rebuild by Nash Muffler service. Information courtesy Mustang Monthly Aug.1991 Around 2009/2010 it was sent to WWMC and finishing touches done by Jason Aker in another restoration. Update 2012 6S2377 was featured again in a 2012 Mustang Monthly magazine. You can read about its actual status here
