Placed outside in the yard in 1978

B.M. (owner wants to stay anonymous) spotted this Shelby G.T.350 in the yard parked under the trees (!)while he had a woodwork job in a home somwhere in central Switzerland. Being a true Mustanger with 4 Ponies in his stable already, he recognized instantly the value of this car and checked the car over after he got permission by the house lady. It was reported to have been stored in the yard back then in 1978 by her father and she wanted to keep it for memories and maybe one day they are going to fix it....
Well, these are stories that we have heard way too often from the U.S. but the same in Switzerland?
B.M. kept asking for more than half of a year, wether the car would be for sale and finally a deal was made.

The car was indeed pulled off the street in 1978 due to a cam problem. The repair was never done and the engine appeared as it was torn apart back then. The Shelby was stored in a barn for 20 years, but finally the family decided that they needed the space and moved the car out in the backyard, where it was parked for another few years.
The dark blue colour is still ok, just some minor dents from an accident can be seen on the co-drivers side. The underside is pretty good, almost very well preserved. The interior of course needs some care, but B.M. is going to preserve its original condition whereever possible and not "overrestoring" it.
The reason is that some research revealed that this car was originally bought from the famous racer Herbert Mueller (Ecurie Filippinetti) from Performance Vehicles Ltd. in Geneve back then.
In fact he bought 2 1967 Shelbys back then and sold them soon after to businessmen. The second is reported to be around in the same aerea in Switzerland in restored condition. Although Herbert Mueller never raced this car, it has a famous history indeed that adds to the value of this car.
